Eighty-eight-year-old Simone Forti, watched by livestream as a restaged tribute of her iconic works was performed at The Watermill Center, where she was honored on July 29th.

Playwright/director Elia Schneider--born in Israel, raised in Venezuela and now an American citizen--is known for hauntingly visual productions that transcend language with strong imagery and a dreamlike fresco of movement and design. Her newest work, 'Citizens of the Gray or the Dark Thing that Sleeps Inside Me,' deals with the war of the sexes in the age of the #MeToo Movement. Hitherto, her theatrical productions have mostly emerged from ideas derived from Kafka. Now she is channeling Strindberg for a new work of ensemble creation with her Teatro Dramma. Theater for the New City will present the world premiere of the piece November 9 to 25.  It will be Schneider's Theater for the New City debut.

The Theatre Group at SBCC will present will be the comedy thriller COMMUNICATING DOORS by Alan Ayckbourn, directed by Katie Laris, February 28-March 17, 2018  in the Garvin Theatre. This intricate, time traveling, comic thriller by the British master of farcical comedy delighted London and New York audiences.

The New Ohio Theatre proudly presents the World Premiere of The Eyes of Others, a rare production of a Bulgarian play in the United States, written by Bulgarian native Ivan Dimitrov, directed by Samuel Buggeln, translated by Angela Rodel and produced by Bug Company. Well, it's official. The show that Broadway and BroadwayWorld.com has been eagerly anticipating is officially a SMASH! On December 12, 2011, the Broadway community descended on New York City's glamorous Museum of Modern Art to get their first official look at NBC's upcoming new musical drama series SMASH, which is nothing less than an ongoing love-letter to Broadway. A Process of Elimination, a new mystery drama by playwright/actor/journalist Gene Ruffini, will be presented as an Equity Showcase production at the Theater for the New City from December 30 - January 16.

Primary Stages concludes its 25th anniversary season of new works celebrating the female playwright with the New York premiere of Happy Now? by Lucinda Coxon. With direction by Liz Diamond, the seven-member cast features Kate Arrington as Bea, Kelly AuCoin as Johnny, Mary Bacon as Kitty, Brian Keane as Carl, Joan MacIntosh as June, Quentin Mare as Miles and CJ Wilson as Michael. Performances began January 26, 2010 for a limited run through Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Opening night is Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
