LIVING FOR TODAY, with musical direction by Nate Patten, and direction by David Alpert, played a one-night-only engagement at the newly renovated Joe's Pub last night, October 17, 2011 at 7:00PM. The fourth annual LIVING FOR TODAY concert showcased Broadway stars in an exciting night of music. This year's concert, titled FIRST NAME BASIS, featured everyone's favorite showtunes, but only those with a first name in the title. Proceeds go to the Gilana Shira Alpert Fund. BroadwayWorld.com has visited Jose Llana ('…Spelling Bee,' 'Wonderland'), Adam Jacobs ('Lion King,'Les Miserables'), Angel Desai ('Company'), among others' publicity photo shoot for PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: SUITES BY SONDHEIM, a concert at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on November 7 that will feature Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga, and an impressive roster of Filipino-American Broadway stars; and that will benefit Philippine Development Foundation USA, a non-profit organization that supports community and entrepreneurship programs in the Philippines. On Tuesday June 21st The National Ballet of Canada transformed Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts into a MAD HOT Wonderland for their annual fundraising gala. Over 1800 people came out in support of the ballet, and BWW was on hand to capture photos of the spectacular and lavish event.

Barrington Stage Company's 2011 Mainstage Season began with the five-week run of Guys & Dolls which plays June 15 through July 16. This award-winning regional theatre in downtown Pittsfield Ma. celebrates its 17th season in the Berkshires under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director. Guys and Dolls stars Michael Thomas Holmes (Oklahoma!/How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Nathan Detroit, Morgan James (Wonderland/The Addams Family) as Sarah Brown, Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde) as Adelaide, Mathew Risch (Pal Joey, Legally Blonde) as Sky Masterson, Daniel Marcus as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Timothy Shew as Benny Southstreet, Peggy Pharr Wilson as General Cartwright, and Gordon Stanley as Arvide Abernathy. Chelsey Arce, Evan Autio, Tommy Bracco, Sharona D'Ornellas, Sean Patrick Folsster, Steve Konopelski, Chris Lebeau, Brooke Marinovich, Michael Nichols, Kellyn Uhi, Nichy Venditti and Correy West complete the cast. Making their debuts are Taylor Anderson, Michael Hewitt, Hannah Richter and Michael Wessells as BSC Musical Theatre Apprentices.

SISTER ACT began preview performances March 24 and opened on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 to a great set of reviews. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, SISTER ACT cast member Kevin Ligon received the Gypsy Robe and BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

With a book by Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy, lyrics by Jack Murphy, music by Frank Wildhorn, choreography by Marguerite Derricks and direction by Gregory Boyd, WONDERLAND began performances at Broadway's Marquis Theatre on Monday, March 21.

A roster of exciting guest artists joined all five divisions of the Young People's Chorus of New York CityTM and its Artistic Director and Founder Francisco J. Núñez in their Monday, March 7, fundraising gala, 'Dreamer.' The concert began at 7 p.m. at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, where the chorus is in residence. Joining the chorus on the Rose Theater stage will be Bob McGrath, marking his 42nd season as 'Bob' on Sesame Street; Janet Dacal, soon to open on Broadway in Wonderland; Hugh Panaro, the star of Phantom of the Opera; 24-year-old jazz piano phenomenon Eldar, the brilliant, 22-year-old violinist Ryu Goto, and The New York Pops conducted by Mr. Núñez.

The stars were out for Sarasota and fans of Bonnie & Clyde who filled Asolo Rep's Mertz Theatre Tuesday night to attend- An Intimate Evening with Frank Wildhorn & Friends. The starry concert featured musical theatre legend and Bonnie & Clyde composer Frank Wildhorn, and starred Rob Evan and Laura Osnes, with Marlyn Sanchez, and Jack Murphy; who performed songs from Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderland, Bonnie & Clyde and more. Bassist Gregg Voorhees accompanied.
