The West Coast Premiere of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is now playing a strictly limited 12-week engagement through November 25, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. The official opening night gala is this week, Wednesday September 12 at 7pm. Original Broadway cast member Jared Gertner stars as Elder Cunningham and Broadway star Gavin Creel stars as Elder Price. The East Coast was not the only crowd that was in a celebratory mood on Sunday night for the Tony Awards, at which The Book of Mormon came out the big winner. In Seattle, Washington, the premiere cast of Disney's Aladdin, directed by Mormon's Casey Nicholaw, was also celebrating the nine Mormon Tonys, including the one accepted by Nicholaw for Best Direction of a Musical.
