Red Branch Theatre Company (RBTC) continues its 2017 season entitled Mad About You with The Bridges of Madison County, a musical adaptation of the best-selling novel by Robert James Waller. Rehearsals are currently underway and special events are being solidified for the production that will run at Drama Learning Center, where Red Branch is the professional theatre in residence, from September 22 - October 14. The Lakewood Playhouse presents the fourth show of its 77th season, its debut presentation of the American classic DEATH OF A SALESMAN by Arthur Miller, running tomorrow, February 19th, through March 13th, 2016. This production will also mark the continuation of Lakewood's year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Lakewood Playhouse Theatre. From TAMING OF THE SHREW in its first year to AVENUE Q at the end of this season, Lakewood will have presented more than 300 productions at this venue, built in 1965 by the Lakewood Arts Foundation. Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, two time Tony Award nominee and Broadway favorite Marcia Lewis passed away December 21 in her home in Nashville, Tennessee. The beloved, 72 year old character actress lost a battle to both brain and lung cancer. Lewis is survived by her husband, Fred Bryan.
