'The Smithsonian was so highly revered by my father, I wish he were here to share this moment with me,' says Susan Lucci, who joined Alex Trebek and Barney co-creators, Kathy and Phil Parker, as objects were added to the Smithsonian's permanent collections. On Thursday, May 9th, The National Museum of American History and The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced a partnership that will secure that future generations will remember great moments in daytime television history. Come rain or come shine, Carey Mulligan was not going to let a little bad weather ruin her night out at the Cannes Film Festival. Mullian was dressed to the nines in Christian Dior to celebrate the premiere of her new film The Great Gatsby. I am so thrilled to see how glamorous she looks because I was honestly a bit disappointed by her New York film premiere look. It didn't have enough oomph. The contestants for the seventh annual Broadway Beauty Pageant will include Callan Bergmann (Silence! The Musical), Julius C. Carter (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark), Yurel Echezarreta (Matilda), Matthew Goodrich (The Nance), Orion Griffiths (Pippin), and Paul HeeSang Miller (Mamma Mia!). As previously announced, four-time Tony nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuh will host the event which will take place on Monday evening, May 20th, at 8:00p.m., at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Two-time Tony Award-winning singer/actress Christine Ebersole joined jazz violinist Aaron Weinstein and his trio for Strings Attached, a special late-afternoon performance at 92nd Street Y oyesterday, May 16 at 4 pm. Ebersole and the trio showcased classics standards from the '20s and '30s by Fats Waller ('Jitterbug Waltz'), Cole Porter 'Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye'), Johnny Mercer ('This Time the Dream's on Me') and George Gershwin ('Shall We Dance'). Strings Attached debuted in November 2011 at a sold-out engagement at Birdland Jazz Club; this performance is 92Y's annual Kathryn W. Stein Memorial Concert. Check out photos from the event below!
