A year ago, Alex FInke was a college girl at the University of Michigan. While many of her contemporaries are likely still looking for a job or working their way up from the lower rungs of the corporate ladder, Finke is sailing through a career on the fast track, and she feels incredibly fortunate to be there. Tonight, she appears on the Ordway stage as debutante Hope Harcourt in the national tour of ANYTHING GOES, playing on the Saint Paul stage through May 12, 2013. (more...)

The event is a celebration of the professional music theatre company's mission, with a focus on its patrons, supporters, and advocates. Dave White, of Delaware County Council, introduced the evening with special mention given to the theatre's educational opportunities and The State Street Miracles. The first affenpinscher to win Best in Show, Banana Joe performed the role of 'Macaco,' usually played by Macaco, a 5-year old, 3 ½ lb Maltese/Yorkie mix, who generously agreed to take the night off to offer this once in a lifetime experience to Banana Joe. The Media Theatre held a fundraising Season Preview Event in Rose Valley Saturday September 22. The evening featured the premier unveiling of the professional music theatre's new Cunningham baby grand piano. Resident music director Tom Fosnocht christened the piano as the supreme vocals of Broadway's Tony nominated actress Ann Crumb filled the main room of the home of Lee and Carol Thaler Roberts.
