Broadway In Chicago along with producers DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. launched the First National Tour of SHREK: The Musical in Chicago on July 13, 2010. Chicagoan Eric Petersen leads the Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning SHREK as it plays a limited eight week engagement in Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.). The best of Broadway will be presented FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2010' - a lunchtime series which began on Thursday, July 8th at 12:30pm on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Bank of America, and JCPenney 33rd & 6th, and hosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities, the tenth annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances runs through August 12th.

The 2010 Tony Awards are fast approaching, and the performers have been taken to the stage to practice for Sunday's big night. GLEE's Lea Michele & Matthew Morrison were at Radio City Music Hall to rehearse their performances, and photos of the pair have been released!

Yesterday, May 27, the Outer Critics Circle honored the recipients of the 2010 Outer Critics Circle Awards in a reception at Sardis in Times Square. The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).
