A celebration of fun and high camp with an underlying message of acceptance and family, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES allows audiences to see Paul Capsis take on one of the most iconic musical theatre drag roles.

Geva Theatre Center presents La Cage Aux Folles, with book by Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, based on the play by Jean Poiret, directed by Melissa Rain Anderson, with musical direction by Don Kot, and choreography by Sam Hay in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from September 3 through October 6.

Telecom giant Globe and theater company 9 Works Theatrical co-produce the smash rock musical AMERICAN IDIOT by Green Day on a limited engagement from Friday, June 24, until Sunday, July 10, at Globe's Iconic Store at Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater in Taguig. I'm playing Rydell High valedictorian Eugene Florczyk in Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Grease, running in Millburn, New Jersey, through June 29th. The last time I had the pleasure of guest blogging for BWW, I was in rehearsals for the 2010 revival of La Cage Aux Folles; I've since traded the lipstick and high heels for thick eyeglasses and argyle sweaters. Voila!

Prince Charming George Hamilton and callipygian Christopher Sieber are now on stage at the beautiful Fisher Theatre, in the outrageous and wacky musical "La Cage aux Folles". Broadway In Detroit is always working hard to bring entertainment that appeals to diverse audiences, and this is one of those niche productions that had audiences rolling in the floors with laughter.

Continuing a season of bold and dynamic productions, the Hangar Theatre next presents the Central New York premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal by Tony winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. This groundbreaking musical stars Broadway luminaries Andrea Burns (In the Heights, Hangar's Ever So Humble) and Chris Hoch (La Cage Aux Folles, Shrek the Musical, Spamalot), directed by Tracy Brigden. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, the 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical, played its final Broadway performance on Sunday, May 1 at 3:00 PM at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). At closing, the production had played 433 performances and 15 previews. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES will be launching a national tour this fall, starting in October in Des Moines, IA and starring George Hamilton.

The Broadway Beauty Pageant crowned Michael Cusumano (Mr. Chicago) the winner last evening, Monday, March 21st, 2011 at 8:00 PM, at the benefit for The Ali Forney Center, NYC's primary housing resource for homeless LGBT youth. Michael received standing ovations for his brilliant interpretation of his Russian prima ballerina version of the film 'BLACK SWAN' dancing on pointe. A capacity crowd enjoyed the annual show again at the Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). The award-winning Tovah Feldshuh hosted the not-to-be-missed event The other multi-talented contestants were: Matt Anctil, La Cage aux Folles; Raymond J. Lee, Anything Goes; Brandon Rubendall, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark; and James Tabeek, Mary Poppins. Lee Roy Reams opened the show with a long boa singing and dancing with the contestants in a special number 'Beautiful Boys' created by Gerard Alessandrini.. Conceived byJeffery Self and directed by Ryan J Davis, musical direction byChristopher Denny, choreography by Erin Porvaznika; lighting design by Brian Tovar. The evening was produced by Wil Fisher,Ryan J. Davis, Jeffery Self and Matthew Oberstein.

Due to the fabulous increase of Musical Theatre productions in Brazil, CAL-Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras, the most famous Drama School and Theatrical Research Institution in the Country, located in the middle of the amazing Rio de Janeiro forest, opened a program of several Musical Theatre workshops called MUSICAL THEATRE DIVE (MERGULHO NO MUSICAL). The project is directed by Mirna Rubim, a distinguished Brazilian singer and actress (THE SOUND OF MUSIC, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES) with the colaboration of Menelick de Carvalho.

On Tuesday, February 15, four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein and six-time Emmy Award nominee Jeffrey Tambor will join the company of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES on Broadway as Albin and Georges, along with Wilson Jermaine Heredia who will join the show as Jacob and we've got a first look! Current stars five-time Emmy Award-winner Kelsey Grammer, 2010 Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge and 2010 Tony Award nominee Robin De Jesús will play their final performances on Sunday, February 13.

Broadway headliners are coming in droves to record the 2010 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, the annual holiday CD benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA). Featured voices include Bernadette Peters and the cast and orchestra from A Little Night Music, Kelsey Grammer, Douglas Hodge, Christine Andreas and the cast of Tony Award winning La Cage aux Folles; Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley, from Next to Normal; plus the casts from Memphis, Wicked, Elf, and In the Heights. Jackie Hoffman and the cast of The Addams Family sing 'It's Chanukah,' a Jackie Hoffman/Lon Hoyt original song written during their time together at Hairspray.
