Up on the Marquee: WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Arrives at the Booth Theatre

Two-time Tony Award and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf and Rupert Everett will lead the upcoming Broadway revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, and also starring Russell Tovey and 2019 Olivier Award winner Patsy Ferran, the production will begin its strictly limited engagement on Monday, March 3, 2020, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Booth Theatre.

Edward Albee, author of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf,' now in production at Beck Center for the Arts, is one of the best known Theatre of the Absurd American writers. This form of theatre, which was at its apex shortly following World War II, is based, in part on philosophical existentialism, which asks 'what is the purpose of existence?'

In honor of its 50th anniversary return to Broadway this fall there was be a special Box Office Opening Celebration at the Booth Theatre. Tickets for all preview performances were available for a special price of $50. The first 25 participants in line when the box office opens received a signed copy of the script by three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee.
