Moon Over Buffalo is a comedy play-within-a-play that follows the story of George and Charlotte Hay, a couple of Broadway stars who have taken their run-down touring company to Buffalo, New York. The play is set in the summer of 1953 and is rife with slapstick and situational humor, backstage shenanigans, and dysfunctional family dynamics. Charlotte and George Hay, an acting couple not exactly the Lunts, attempt to regain their former glory while on tour in Buffalo with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac 'revised, one nostril version' and Noel Coward's Private Lives.

by Valerie-Jean Miller • Dec 18, 2024

Thru an intricately woven saga spanning many eras of time, the Star of HEXEN, An Ancestial Witch Play, Dreya Weber, an actress, singer, dancer, writer, lyricist, director and aerial artist, takes us on a magical, mystical series of events beginning many centuries ago with three of her ancestors she came to know as Hildegard (1580-1658), Hypatta (370-415 AD) and Cherry Rose Susanna (1889-1953). Her knowledge of these three was obtained through her mother’s research into their family’s mattrilinial lineage. As her strength, energy, skill, and lightness of being embody each character from her distant past, we come to know their ties to Dreya, through the many creative, explorative scenarios presented.

by A.A. Cristi • Jul 20, 2017

Princeton Summer Theater's 2017 season's third show opens next Thursday, July 27th with Arthur Miller's The Crucible. Regarded as a one of the foremost classics of American theatre, The Crucible uses the proceedings of the Salem witch trials to examine the manic effects of mass hysteria in society. As an increasing number of upstanding townspeople are accused of witchcraft, Miller emphasizes the contagious nature of fear and the elusiveness of truth. The 1953 Tony Award-winning play invites us to question the importance of upholding morality in times of hardship.

His life and work have had an impact on poetry, politics, music, film and comedy from Don Rickles to Richard Pryor and Chris Rock, and any other comedian who is now free to speak his/her mind without fear of legal retribution thanks to Bruce challenging our First Amendment freedom of speech rights. Lenny's tempestuous personal and professional life which Marmo embodies with his body, heart and soul, was marked by great passion and great pain, thanks to his unwavering commitment to free speech, which led to numerous obscenity charges and arrests.

I love Valentine's Day. And this year, it was even more special. Amidst an already lively theater scene in the metropolitan area, a Valentine's Day Cabaret happened at the Club Vibe. This cabaret, the brain child of Nik Whitcomb and Sarah Gibson, featured local performers who have appeared in award-winning productions in a variety of Omaha theaters.
