Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, begins Season XIII: Celebrating the Extraordinary with Eugène Ionesco’s The Chairs. Directed by Quintessence’s Artistic Director Alexander Burns, The Chairs, full of absurdist philosophy, witty wordplay and slapstick comedy runs through October 23. One of Rogers and Hammerstein's most beloved scores, South Pacific runs August 7-18, 2018.

The Center Theatre Group / Mark Taper Forum production of 'The Price' by Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award and National Medal of Honor-winner Arthur Miller, is a penetrating family drama by one of America's greatest dramatists. The play opened at Mark Taper Forum this weekend, on February 21. Check out photos from the opening night below!

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

The Curing Room, David Ian Lee's powerful and provocative play, which caused a huge stir at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with brave and critically acclaimed performances from seven actors stripped bare on stage, will transfer to London this autumn with a three week run at the Pleasance Islington from tonight 21 October - 9 November, with a press night tomorrow 22 October. Retro Productions (Heather E. Cunningham, Artistic Director), six-time 2010 New York Innovative Theatre Awards nominee for The Desk Set, will present Norman Krasna's screwball comedy Dear Ruth May 4 through 21, 2011 at the Spoon Theater (38 West 38th St., 5th Floor).

The smash hit Off-Broadway musical,' Dames at Sea opens the Saint Michael's Playhouse summer 2009 season Tuesday, June 16, and runs through June 27, starring Broadway musical talent top to bottom. Tickets for the show are discounted 20% through the run of the show if bought as part of a four-play season subscription. Performances of 'Dames' are Tuesday, June 16 through Saturday, June 20, at 8 p.m. each evening and Saturday, June 20, and Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m., on the stage of the McCarthy Arts Center on the campus of Saint Michael's College.
