Photo Blast From The Past: Judd Hirsch!

Today, we bring you Judd Hirsch circa 1985. For his performance in Taxi, in 1981 and again in 1983, Judd Hirsch won the Emmy Award for Lead Actor In a Comedy Series. Hirsch went on to play the title character on the modestly successful sitcom Dear John and in 1989 won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series in a Comedy or Musical for this role. He later teamed with Bob Newhart in the short-lived comedy George and Leo. He had also previously starred for one season in the series Delvecchio, playing a police detective (1976-1977).In film, Hirsch received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the drama film Ordinary People (1980). Other films in the 1980s include the 1983 drama Without a Trace, the 1984 dramedies Teachers and The Goodbye People, and the 1988 drama Running on Empty directed by Sidney Lumet and co-starring River Phoenix. Photo Flash: Rob Reiner and Celeste Holm Visit ENTER LAUGHING

ENTER LAUNGHING was visited by Oscar winner Celeste Holm and actor/director Rob Reiner, whose father Carl wrote the book upon which the show is based. The YORK THEATRE COMPANYrecently announced that ENTER LAUGHING: THE MUSICAL will be extended. Performances will now continue through October 26th; all performances will be at the company's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's. (more...)

Photo Flash: Dr. Ruth Visits 'Enter Laughing'

Over the weekend, Dr. Ruth Westheimer paid a visit to the new musical 'Enter Laughing', presented by York Theater Company. Dr. Ruth is a sex therapist and author who came into celebrity in the 1980's. She has continued to support the American theater and has participated in several events for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and 'Broadway Barks'. (more...)

Photo Coverage: Sneak Peek at 'Enter Laughing' In Rehearsal

The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) will present ENTER LAUGHING: THE MUSICAL. Performances begin September 3rd with opening night set for September 10.
