The composer who had three shows running simultaneously on Broadway was on stage at The Broadway at Birdland concert series last night and of course Broadwayworld was also there for the special evening.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents Miss Coco Peru in The Taming of the Tension on Sunday and Monday, October 15 and October 16. Miss Coco Peru has been a little tense lately and one of the things that Coco likes to do when she is tense is invite friends over to her place for tea (and/or cocktails) and a good old-fashioned bullsh*tting session. Film and stage legend and two-time Tony Award winner Lauren Bacall, passed away last week (first reported by TMZ) at the age of 89. The legendary actress suffered a massive stroke and died at home (New York City's famous Dakota Building) according to a family member. BroadwayWorld remembers the legend below.

On Monday, June 30, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn in his regular series called 'Frank & Friends.' This particular show, 'Girls Night Out!' found Frank onstage with Broadway leading ladies Jackie Burns (If/Then), Teal Wicks (Wicked), Adrienne Warren (Bring It On) and jazz vocalist Jane Monheit (Jane Monheit's Jazz Party at Birdland). Joining Frank onstage were Constantine Maroulis (upcoming star of Jekyll & Hyde), Laura Osnes (Tony nominee/Bonnie & Clyde and upcoming Cinderella), Melissa van Der Schyff (Bonnie & Clyde) and Stark Sands (upcoming Kinky Boots).

The stars were out for Sarasota and fans of Bonnie & Clyde who filled Asolo Rep's Mertz Theatre Tuesday night to attend- An Intimate Evening with Frank Wildhorn & Friends. The starry concert featured musical theatre legend and Bonnie & Clyde composer Frank Wildhorn, and starred Rob Evan and Laura Osnes, with Marlyn Sanchez, and Jack Murphy; who performed songs from Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderland, Bonnie & Clyde and more. Bassist Gregg Voorhees accompanied.

As the theatrical community of NY gathered on the Great White Way to celebrate their own for the 2010 TONY AWARDS, the Los Angeles thespian society congregated 3000 miles away to cheer their colleagues via a LIVE feed, courtesy of Direct TV, as THE ACTORS FUND and host Tommy Tune honored TONY Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell at their 14th Annual Tony Awards Party with the Julie Harris Award. Former High School chum and dance partner Annette Bening presented the award in recognition of not only 'Stokes' theatrical accomplishments, but also his leadership as Chairman of the Board of The Actors Fund. The gala, which included a memorable performance of 'You Made Me Love You' by Lorna Luft dedicated to the evening's honoree, was produced and written by Marc Cherry and David Rambo.

On Saturday, May 1, the Straight for Equality Awards Gala honored Liza Minnelli at the New York Marriott Marquis. Liza Minnelli was presented with the 2010 Straight for Equality in Entertainment Award. This honor recognizes Liza's lifelong role as a Straight Ally of the LGBT community. Additional honorees included NFL Super Bowl XLIV star, now of the Cleveland Browns Scott Fujita, and international food services corporation Sodexo. The event was hosted by comedienne Caroline Rhea, with the live auction hosted by actor and 'Amazing Race IV' winner Reichen Lehmkuhl. BroadwayWorld was on hand to celebrate.

Last night, March 18, Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein opened their new Broadway collaboration, ALL ABOUT ME, at the new Henry Miller's Theatre and BroadwayWorld.com was there!

'Her name was Lola...' and she's here in Pittsburgh CLO's production of Barry Manilow's Copacabana July 21 through August 2 at the Benedum Center in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District.

Frank Wildhorn & Friends was presented at Joe's Pub on Monday, September 5, 2005 and will be repeated on September 12th, and 19th. The September 12th concert takes place at 7:00PM, on September 19th, the show will be performed at 7:00PM, and 9:30PM.
