Yesterday afternoon, friends and colleagues of the late Edward Albee paid tribute to the playwright at the August WilsonTheatre (245 W. 52 St.). Mr. Albee died at age 88 on September 16, 2016 at his home in Montauk, NY.

Westport Country Playhouse stages the National Book Award-winning memoir, "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion, now through June 30, featuring noted actress Maureen Anderman as Didion. Matthew Lombardo's new play HIGH, directed by Rob Ruggiero, stars two-time Golden Globe winner, Academy Award & Tony Award nominee Kathleen Turner as 'Sister Jamison Connelly'. Previews begin on Broadway on March 25 and the official opening is April 19, 2011. Today, Turner and the company met the press and BroadwayWorld was on hand for the photo op.

Stephen Sondheim, Harold Prince, James Gandolfini, Patti LuPone, Liz Smith, Christine Ebersole, Lesley Stahl, Joni Evans, Cynthia McFadden, and Michael Feinstein were just a few of the stars who gathered at the Carlyle Hotel last night to celebrate the 85th birthday of its most famous resident, Elaine Stritch. In honor of the event, Stritch herself celebrated with an hour long performance of 'At Home At The Carlyle: Elaine Stritch Singin' Sondheim...One Song At A Time.'
