The Town Hall just presented Broadway By The Year: Broadway Musicals of 1943 and 1951 last night, March 25th at 8pm. Created, written, hosted and directed by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall, the evening continues Broadway By The Year's 19th season at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).
The Broadway community mourns the loss of legendary actress and recording artist Barbara Cook, who passed away on Tuesday, August 8th at age 89. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York were dimmed in her memory on yesterday, August 9th at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

Show Boat, the American musical masterpiece with a grand score by Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kern that includes the classic songs 'Ol' Man River' and 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man,' is now playing at the Wells Fargo Pavilion through July 14. Generally considered America's first true musical, the show has not been at Music Circus in 12 years, and this is its first time at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The Love of Life orchestra (LOLO) will perform Symphony #5 which emphasizes the orchestral dimension of the Love of Life Orchestra. Symphony #5, a new work, is a culmination of work Peter Gordon has been composing over the past 5 years in a multimovement format. It is compositionally intricate, at the same time allowing for the musical personae of the musicians to come forth.
