For the tenth consecutive year, Broadway Dreams will partner with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for the return of their annual Summer Intensive, August 4 - August 12, 2018. Lead by an all-star roster of Broadway's brightest stars and industry professionals, Philadelphia's rising stars will participate in a week-long intensive focusing on acting, vocal performance and dance. The week will culminate in two public performances of THE HITS: Reimagined, a unique Broadway-style cabaret featuring Philadelphia-area students performing alongside their Broadway idols.
Roundabout Theatre Company announced casting for the Fort Lauderdale premiere of the national tour of Sam Mendes (Spectre, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall's (Into the Woods and Chicago, the films) Tony Award®-winning production of CABARET. CABARET is coming to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for a limited two week run, January 10 - 22, 2017.

Toronto theatre-fans had a real treat last night when Rebecca Caine, the original Christine in Toronto's record-setting run of The Phantom of the Opera (1989-1999), visited SINGular Sensation at Statlers (487 Church St.) to perform a few songs and take in the local talent. Caine is also known for originating the role of Cosette in Les Miserables, as well as her many opera credits. Caine is also the winner for the 2014 BroadwayWorld Toronto Award for Best Cabaret Performance or Solo Concert.
Dan Mendeloff, Cabaret's stage right props person, celebrated his 2,500th show at Saturday's matinee. Dan worked on the show from the start in 1998 at the Kit Kat Club/Henry Miller, moved the show to Studio 54 in 1999 and stayed with it through the entire run. He has been working on the current revival since the beginning as well.
Just last night, May 12, Tiffany Schleigh presented Cabaret for a Cause, a one-night-only event to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The speial event was held at Galapagos Art Space and was dedicated to Shannon Tavarez (The Lion King) (January 20, 1999-November 1, 2010). BroadwayWorld brigs you photos from the special event below!
The Negro Ensemble's "Cabaret Émigre," a stageplay by Sophia Romma, will make its debut on November 2 at 8 pm at the Lion Theater in NYC's theater district. A satirical story about emigrants who have traveled to the U.S. throughout the 1900s, the play spotlights a Russian Jew, African, Latino, German and various other emigres who made this difficult travel in pursuit of the American Dream. The show makes the audience question: Did they achieve this dream? Was it worth it? And, just in time for New Yorkers to decide which president will help them to achieve their goals in the upcoming years. The show runs through Sunday, November 18.
