BWW TV: Randy Rainbow Visits the 2012 NYMF Gala- Vereen, Bleu and More!

On July 9, Ben Vereen (Pippin, Fosse) hosted the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival opening night gala celebrating the season kick off. On hand to show support for the famed fest, which opened last night and runs through July 29, were Corbin Bleu ("High School Musical"), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Dreamgirls, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Leslie Krtizer (A Catered Affair), Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys), Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar), Jack Noseworthy (Sweet Smell of Success), Tom Deckman (Spamalot), Anika Larsen (Xanadu), Melissa van Der Schyff (Bonnie and Clyde), and many more. Jeremy Jordan, who stars as Jack Kelly in Newsies on Broadway, sat down with the co-hosts of the ABC daytime television program 'The View' yesterday, March 13th. This marked Jordan's second appearance on 'The View;' he and the cast of Newsies debuted two songs from the show while it was at Paper Mill Playhouse, an appearance that was instrumental in the show's eventual Broadway transfer. STAGE TUBE: First Look at Hunter Foster's THE HOLLOW

Signature Theatre's 22nd season kicks off by making musical theatre history with its American Musical Voices Project: Next Generation 'World Premiere Repertory Series' - the first time in the history of the American theatre that two world premiere musicals will be presented in rotating repertory, in full production. The eight-week series, beginning previews on August 23rd, will produce The Hollow (book by Hunter Foster; music and lyrics by Matt Conner), to be directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner. On Saturday, October 24, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire, a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, threw a star-studded benefit concert that showcased unforgettable performances by some of the hottest talents on Broadway.
