Today’s subject Myles Frost in currently living his theatre life as the lead character in Chez Joey at Arena Stage. The show is a modern reimagining of the 1940 Rodgers and Hart musical Pal Joey. The production runs through March 22nd in Arena’s Kreeger Theatre.

Chez Joey is now running at Arena Stage. We spoke to Kevin Cahoon, who plays Melvin Snyder in the musical - which is a revisal of Pal Joey.

Pal Joey return to Broadway in 2008, almost seven decades after it originally premiered in 1940. This time, the beloved Rodgers and Hart musical starred Christian Hoff, Martha Plimpton and Stockard Channing. The Roundabout revival played 85 performances at Studio 54 and earned four Tony nominations that season.

What makes a Broadway theatre? Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history. Below, we're giving you the scoop on the life of every one of them!

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the independent, not-for-profit affiliate of SDC, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced unique plans for its 2019 award evening, which will feature original choreographic pieces resulting from a special commissioning program, with the application period now open. SDCF also announced that Victoria Traube would receive a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award at the event, to be held March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).

In December of 2017 it was revealed that Tony Goldwyn was directing a new revival of Pal Joey, aiming to make it to Broadway in 2018. An Equity casting notice has just gone out seeking at new Joey for an upcoming lab to be presented in November. Richard LaGravenese pens the revised book.
