New Book Total Addiction Describes the Life of an Eclipse Chaser

Seeing a total solar eclipse is often described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nevertheless, for many who have experienced totality, once-in-a-lifetime is simply not enough. They want more and are willing to go to great lengths, often at great expense, to repeat the experience. However, total solar eclipses are very rare events, occurring on average every 18 months, often make limited landfall or pass over sparsely inhabited landscapes. But in contrast to the late 1800s, where only scientists could journey to the path of totality, travelling today is much more affordable and accessible. In fact, it has never been easier to be an eclipse chaser. A new book, Total Addiction by Kate Russo, is all about the passion for total solar eclipses. (more...)

Eclipse Theatre has announced the recipient of their Fourth Annual Corona Award: Steve Scott, Associate Producer of The Goodman Theatre. Cerveris, who currently plays 'Juan Peron' in Evita, has also appeared on Broadway in In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Cymbeline, LoveMusik, Sweeney Todd, Children And Art, Passion, Assassins, Titanic and The Who's Tommy. His Off-Broadway credits include Road Show, King Lear, an oak tree, The Apple Tree, Wintertime, Fifth of July, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Blood Sports and Total Eclipse. Talking all about her new solo album, LOVE TRAVELS, and its various inspirations as well as casting a look back at her many Broadway, touring and regional roles thus far in her eclectic career - ALL SHOOK UP, SWEENEY TODD and many more included - Reiber and I attempt to illustrate her unique place on Broadway and what she would like to pursue in the future, both on the stage and in the recording studio.
