David Lynch Foundation to Launch DLF Live at Bonnaroo, 6/15

The David Lynch Foundation will launch its new performance division, DLF Live, at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on June 15, 2013. DLF Live will harness the power of arts and creativity to bring meditation to at-risk communities. The launch will be marked by a screening of Meditation, Creativity, Peace, a documentary highlighting filmmaker David Lynch and his decades-long dedication to meditation and the arts. The screening is sponsored by the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) and will be hosted by James McCartney, musician and son of legend Paul McCartney and Bob Roth, Executive Director of DLF. (more...)

In TWO ROOMS, Chris DeVinny plays Michael Wells, a University Educator taken hostage in Beirut during the Lebanese hostage crisis of the 1980s. It is the first role to hit this close to home for him. Though his character, Michael, is a civilian, he is faced with many of the same fears, horrors and questions that Chris either experienced, or witnessed first hand over his deployment. Vicente Todoli Announces HangarBicocca Exhibition Programme, 9/19

HangarBicocca, the contemporary art space in Milan promoted by Pirelli, announced the new exhibition schedule at a press conference held today. Vicente Todoli, the Artistic Advisor for HangarBicocca and former director of Tate Modern in London from 2003 to 2010, is putting his name to the programme for the next three years, revealing the exhibitions planned for October 2013 to April 2015. Houston Symphony to Perform ROMEO & JULIET OVERTURE at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6/28

On June 28, the Houston Symphony will perform a free concert as part of the ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights series at Miller Outdoor Theatre. The concert will feature the famous Romeo and Juliet Overture by Tchaikovsky, followed by popular works from Mendelssohn and Schumann. Led by American conductor Case Scaglione, the concert will also feature pianist Kuok-Wai Lio. Born in Macau, Kuok-Wai has gained worldwide recognition performing with various orchestras and for multiple festivals and competitions. Kuok-Wai will be making his Houston debut performing Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto in G Minor. (more...)
