Four years later, when the play debuted in New York City, audience members hurled epithets, rotten tomatoes and various other vegetation across the footlights, protesting the play's perceived "immorality." American Century Revives NATIVE SON 4/14 At Gunston Centerby BWW News Desk - Mar 25, 2009Novelist Richard Wright's searing novel Native Son aroused violent controversy from the moment it was published. Naturally, Orson Welles, then the most dynamic force in American theater, thought it was just the kind of story his Mercury Theater needed to tackle. (more...)

BWW Reviews: OC's 3D Theatricals Revisits Classic THE SOUND OF MUSICby Michael L.
