LES ENFANTS DE PARIS Premieres at NYMF 10/3

War, Muslim Relations, Xenophobia and the struggles of disenfranchised youth are among the contemporary themes highlighted in Les Enfants de Paris, a world premiere musical premiering October 3rd as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Donna Drake directs a cast of seven including, Adam Halpin (Glory Days), Nadine Malouf , Sevan Greene (Aftermath, Betrayed), Megan Reinking (Million Dollar Quartet, Hair, Boardwalk Empire), Jed Resnick (Avenue Q), Dan Kohler (Blue Man Group), and Blake Segal. Seven performances will be held at the TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, NYC 10018 beginning October 3, 2011. (more...)

GA Southern Theatre Presents THE 1940's RADIO HOUR 11/07-11/14

The Department of Communication Arts at Georgia Southern University celebrates the 100th anniversary of radio with its Theatre and Performance's presentation of The 1940's Radio Hour by Walton Jones. The 1940's Radio Hour opens runs now through November 14. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. (more...)

THE 1940s RADIO HOUR Opens at Farmington Players Tonight

The 1940's Radio Hour, a musical comedy by Walton Jones (based on an idea he hatched with Carol Lees,) takes you on a trip to Christmas season, 1942. Members of the "Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade," are preparing a final holiday broadcast for the troops fighting World War II. It's getting close to airtime at WOV in New York City, and the zany group is coping with backstage drama that threatens to botch their broadcast. Will they be ready in time? (more...)

Virginia Rep's Children's Theatre of Virginia kicks off 2013 with The Magic Flute on Friday, January 18 at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive, Richmond, Virginia. The show is part of the Acts of Faith Theatre Festival and will run through February 10, 2013. Fairy tale magic hangs in the air when the mysterious Queen of the Night sends young Prince Tamino - armed only with a golden flute and a feathered friend - to rescue her lovely daughter. The Prince soon learns that nothing is as it seems and he must pass many tests before he and his beloved Princess can live happily ever after. Inspired by Mozart's masterpiece, the musical imparts a poignant message of tolerance as it weaves a web of make-believe and music. (more...)

DCT Opens THE 1940'S RADIO HOUR, 2/22-3/3

Swing back to a time when music was grand and life seemed easier. Dundalk Community Theatre celebrates the glorious music of the 1940's with a comedy set inside a radio studio, broadcasting a Christmas Special to the boys overseas, fighting the war in 1942. This isn't your typical musical, and not to be missed. The 1940's Radio Hour, runs 6 performances only, from Feb 22 to March 3rd.
