Mosaic Theater Company welcomes playwright Mona Mansour back to Washington, DC for the regional premiere of Unseen, the cross-cultural, time-shifting journey of an American conflict photographer.

The Washington Ballet and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment have announced content partnerships with British arts streamer Marquee TV.

Irish Arts Center will present the U.S. premiere of THISISPOPBABY’s Conversations After Sex, written by Mark O’Halloran and directed by Tom Creed. Performances take place February 22-March 11.

Playwrights Horizons has extended Will Arbery’s Corsicana, directed by Tony winner Sam Gold, one week, to July 17, due to popular demand. The world premiere production opened Wednesday, June 22.

Cathy Weis Projects will present two Sundays on Broadway events in May. The evenings will feature new and in-progress works by seven stellar dance artists. Both events begin at 6pm. $10 suggested donation at the door. WeisAcres is located at 537 Broadway, #3 (between Prince and Spring Streets), in Manhattan.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the 2022/23 Season today. With six Steppenwolf Membership Series productions and two SYA productions, the 47th season is the storied company’s first full season in its expanded home—welcoming audiences back to experience the next chapter of Steppenwolf’s bold, visceral and muscular work.

Playwrights Horizons will present Will Arbery’s Corsicana, directed by Sam Gold, June 2–July 10 (opening June 22) in the Mainstage Theater. In Corsicana, a small city in Texas, a woman with Down syndrome named Ginny and her half-brother Christopher are unmoored in the wake of their mother’s death.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host nine weeklong in-person residencies for 23 musical theatre writers of nine new musicals between June 27 and August 29.  Writers include Tony-nominee Beth Malone, Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls; Jonathan Larson winners Avi Amon, Sara Cooper, Ty Defoe, and Anna Jacobs and more.

Loretta Greco, Artistic Director of Magic Theatre, has announced that she will depart the organization after twelve years as its artistic leader. Hollywood Fringe Festival and the Actor's Company present CANCELLED, a hilarious new show created and directed by Frankie Ryan Maclaughlin. Staying relevant is a full-time job in the year of our lord 2019, and the last thing you want to be is #Cancelled. A washed up child star. An up-and-coming music producer. An 'influencer-by-accident'. What do they have in common? An internet scandal big enough to break them.

Heartland, now playing at Luna Stage, will extend through May 5. The new play, which opened April 4, has received audience and critical acclaim. Broadway World called it a "heartfelt masterpiece rife with comedic brilliance and the triumph of the human spirit."

The Amoralists (James Kautz, Artistic Director; Lico Whitfield, Producing Director) proudly present the world premiere of ENTANGLED, written by Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB authors Charly Evon Simpson and Gabriel Jason Dean, and directed by Kate Moore Heaney. ENTANGLED is PLAY 4 of RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic.

Brian Corrigan, Beejan Land, and Lipica Shah will star in Luna Stage's production of Heartland. The intercontinental love story by Gabriel Jason Dean, directed by Ari Laura Kreith will run from April 4-April 28.

Different Stages continues its 2018- 2019 season this week with The Magic Fire by Lillian Groag. The Magic Fire is a wonderfully warm and amusing play about a young woman growing up in a family of European immigrants who surround themselves with a 'magic fire' of art to fend off the unpleasant realities of Juan Peron's Argentina in the years after World War II.  Argentinean-American playwright Lillian Groag explores the connections among memory, history, and art through the eyes of a child, revisited from the perspective of adulthood. By turns funny, loving, and politically alarming,  The Magic Fire weaves a spell of tango and opera, treasured memories and hidden truths.     Watch an interview with the director:

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces the continuation of three Rolling World Premieres: Apples in Winter by Jennifer Fawcett at Indianapolis's Phoenix Theatre (January 11-27, 2019), Red Bike by Caridad Svich at Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and Gabriel Jason Dean's Heartland at New Repertory Theatre (Watertown: January12-February 9, 2019) and the VORTEX (Austin: January 17-February 9, 2019).

The story of the very White Donnelly family is told with an all-Asian American cast and presented by Artists at Play (AAP) as part of a series of world premieres across the country, each receiving much critical acclaim. In a darkly comic exploration of family dysfunction and the patriarchy, Pi Theatre presents the Canadian premiere of acclaimed American playwright Taylor Mac's Hir from November 22-December 8, 2018, at Vancouver Civic Theatre's Annex. The production explores the dynamics of a suburban family dealing with PTSD, identity crises, and gender politics in absurdly realistic fashion. Featuring an incredible cast of accomplished performers, Mac's play introduces audiences to Isaac, a war veteran who returns to the suburbs to find a household in chaos. Isaac must learn to find balance between a disabled patriarch, a liberated mother, and a newly out transgender teen in this timely and subversive work.
