Lauren Ferebee's stirring drama Somewhere Safer will be the first play presented by On the Square Productions' Write Angle Reading series at University Settlement. Freestyle Releasing Acquires INAPPROPRIATE COMEDY, Starring Adrien Brody and Rob Schneider

Freestyle Releasing plans a North American theatrical release followed by a DVD/VOD release through Freestyle Digital Media for the new sketch comedy film INAPPROPRIATE COMEDY, directed by Vince Offer (of "ShamWow!" fame) and written by Offer, Ari Shaffir and Ken Pringle. The film is produced by Robert B. Shapiro ("The Last Time") and Ken Pringle for Square One Entertainment. Highland Film Group will handle international distribution. (more...)

Square One Theatre to Present A.R. Gurney's BLACK TIE, 5/17-6/1

The final production of Square One Theatre's 23rd Season is the gentle comedy, Black Tie, by the prolific contemporary American playwright A.R. ('Pete') Gurney. – Last summer, Brett Cohen's “Fake Celebrity Pranks New York City” went viral on YouTube, showcasing his successful entourage stunt pulled in Times Square. One of the fooled New Yorkers that night thought that Cohen was a famous singer, and that's when Brett decided to turn a false theory into a reality. The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today their acquisition of U.S. distribution rights to the French language biopic YVES SAINT LAURENT. The film will be directed by Jalil Lespert (HEADWINDS) with a screenplay by Lespert and Marrie-Pierre Huster. Pierre Niney (18 YEARS OLD AND RISING) will star as legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, with Guillaume Gallienne (MARIE ANTOINETTE) set to play Saint Laurent's onetime romantic partner and fashion house co-founder Pierre Berge.
