Bay Street Theatre's Literature Live! presentation of THE CRUCIBLE, by Arthur Miller, will be presented live on stage in a professional production beginning tonight, November 9 thru Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, November 24. Bay Street Theatre will be donating 10% of all tickets sales for the public performances of THE CRUCIBLE to Island Harvest, an organization that is collecting money and food specifically for Long Island hurricane victims. School of Theatre at FSU Carries on YTA Initiative with MONSTER UNDER THE BED

The School of Theatre at Florida State carries on its mission to engage the Tallahassee community with the Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) presentation of Kevin Dyer's The Monster Under the Bed, running November 15-18, 2012. TYA is an annual initiative of the FSU School of Theatre that concentrates on the theatrical "audiences of tomorrow" - our youth. Monster was the play chosen this season to engage students and families alike with its fun-filled, chaotic sense of adventure and heartfelt charm. (more...)

2013 Bay Street Theatre Comedy Club Announced

Bay Street Theatre has announced the 2013 Comedy Club lineup. The fun begins on June 11 and will continue on most Monday nights at 8 pm through August. Tickets are $62 for members or $69 for non member excluding The All Star Comedy Showcase, which is $15 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. Review: Sophie B. Hawkins Becomes Janis Joplin in ROOM 105 at Macha Theatre

I am not really sure where to begin with my praise for Sophie B. Hawkins after seeing her commanding performance as Janis Joplin in Gig Gaston's new musical 'Room 105 - The Highs and Lows' which ended its 4-month run tonight at the Macha Theatre in West Hollywood. I will start by saying that Hawkins is not playing Janis Joplin - she IS Janis from the moment she literally crawls onto the stage and belts out her first number. (more...)

Ozona Elementary School Participates in Relay For Life of Palm Harbor

Ozona Elementary staff and students know what it's like to lose a loved one to cancer-families and teachers have all been affected by cancer in some way, students losing a parent, or students and teachers even suffering from the disease themselves. Just a few years ago, a beloved Ozona teacher succumbed to cancer after a long and difficult fight. Last year, the school decided it was time to join the fight in ridding the world of cancer and bringing more awareness to the illness. Ozona Elementary has formed team "Ozona Ospreys" to participate in the 2013 Relay For Life of Palm Harbor. Team Ozona Ospreys has already raised over $1,200, and hopes to raise much more. All their funds have been donated directly by staff or families of Ozona Elementary. (more...)
