BWW Reviews: Eden Espinosa Charms Nashville Audiences...Cabaret Style

Come to the Cabaret…The Absinthe Cabaret, that is. Saturday Night was the inaugural event of the newly formed Absinthe Cabaret in Franklin, TN. Executive Producer, Carolan Trbovich lined up a fantastic first event, with Broadway star Eden Espinosa headlining, and theatre and stage musician Johnny Rodgers hosting. Eden is best known for her roles as Elphaba in Wicked, for playing Maureen in the final cast of RENT on Broadway, and for originating the role of Brooklyn in the musical Brooklyn. Johnny Rodgers has toured with Liza Minnelli and appeared on Broadway with her during her show, Liza's at the Palace. (more...)

B-Boy 'Lil Rock' Wins Red Bull BC One Las Vegas Cypher

Sin City was set afire on Saturday Night as the best b-boys from the West Coast went head to head in a fierce battle during the Red Bull BC One Cypher under the lighted canopy at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. The open-air location allowed more than 2,000 spectators to be treated to a night of intense battles, and ultimately, the Red Bull BC One judges Neguin (Red Bull BC One All Star), Teknyc (Skill Methodz Crew) and Floor Rock (Rock Skittles) crowned Lil Rock as the Las Vegas regional champion. 'Saturday Night Live,' with host Ben Affleck and musical guest Kanye West (4.7/12 in metered-market households) dominated its time period, delivering the top rating of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the Local People Meters. 'SNL' earned its highest rating in metered-market households since April 6 (4.8 for a telecast hosted by Melissa McCarthy with musical guest Phoenix). (more...)

CONFIRMED: DOCTOR WHO Renewed for 8th Season

BBC announced this weekend that it had renewed Doctor Who for another outing, following the first part of the seventh season finale on Saturday Night. The network had hinted at a pick-up earlier this year, but had yet to confirm the news. (more...)

Aziz Ansari, Zoe Saldana, & More Set for Second Season of IFC's COMEDY BANG! BANG!

The second season of Comedy Bang! Bang! kicks off on Friday, July 12 at 10PM ET/PT with 20 all new episodes and a robust line-up of famous faces. The first ten episodes will air from July 12 - September 13, followed by a short fall hiatus before picking back up on Friday, October 18 for ten more episodes. Host Scott Aukerman (co-creator/director/producer, Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis; writer/performer, Mr. Show) and musical cohort Reggie Watts (Conan, Reggie Watts: A Live At Central Park, Jash.com) both return to Comedy Bang!
