Ana Gazzola's Brazilian Take on the BEE GEES! Comes Out Today, 9/18

Ana Gazzola is best known in Los Angeles for her work with Brasil Brazil, a troupe she created with Sonia Santos, a fellow singer and songwriter from Brazil. Their high-energy blend of jazz and Brazilian music has made them one of the city's most exciting acts. Gazzola has also made two solo albums of MPB styled music - Brazilicious, a collection of original love songs and Brazility, covers of tunes by her favorite writers including Tom Jobim, Kurt Cobain, Gilberto Gil, and The Rolling Stones. Theatre Aspen Hosts Panel in NYC, 11/8

Theatre Aspen's Board of Trustees will host an intimate panel discussion on November 8th, featuring distinguished leaders in the theatrical field. The event will be held in conjunction with the Colorado theatre's quarterly board meeting, being held for the first time in New York City. The event will be held at Ars Nova, a non-profit theatre known for developing exciting new artists, and is by invitation only. (more...)

$500 Grant Awarded by ABQ Theatre Guild to Rio Grande Players

The Albuquerque Theatre Guild (ATG) has awarded a $500 grant to the Rio Grande Players (RGP) as part of a pilot program to fund member-generated projects. The grant will to help defray the cost of purchasing portable sound-amplification equipment to enable the group to take its free productions to more venues that do not have sound systems. (more...)

Theatre Aspen Tickets Go On Sale 4/1

Theatre Aspen today announced that single tickets and passes for the summer season go on sale April 1st (no fooling). Deals on sale now include season passes for both two or three shows, discounted preview passes and the popular Local's Pass (additional $20 off), for valley residents. Theatre Aspen Completes Capital Campaign

Theatre Aspen today announced the completion of their two-year, $2MM capital campaign, which supported the building of the new Hurst Theatre and lobby, and significant upgrades to the grounds. This work was undertaken in partnership with the Aspen City Parks Department, as part of a larger renovation to the John Denver Sanctuary in the Rio Grande Park, within which the theatre resides. Theatre Aspen Launches New Apprentice Program

A new Theatre Aspen Apprentice Program was announced today. The award-winning Equity theatre will invite ten aspiring theatre professionals to Aspen for an entire summer, to work alongside professionals in all aspects of theatre production. Theatre Aspen supporters and Aspen residents Jessica and John Fullerton will underwrite the program for its first three years. In January, the organization was named "Non Profit of the Year" in the region with hundreds of local not-for-profits. (more...)
