Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth just launched her debut world tour in Seattle earlier this month. The 19-date North American concludes in Chenoweth’s hometown of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on June 24th. In this concert appearance, Chenoweth performs songs from her latest album Some Lessons Learned, as well as an array of her most memorable songs and Broadway show tunes, including music from Wicked, Promises, Promises, and Glee. In honor of the launch of her tour, we celebrated the Broadway favorite with last week's poll, which asked: what is your favorite Kristin Chenoweth musical theatre role? The prize commemorates George and Ira Gershwin, the legendary American songwriting team whose extensive collection resides in the Library of Congress. 1776 Breaks Records at Ford's Theatre

The Ford’s Theatre Society announced that the Tony Award-winning musical “1776,” directed by Peter Flynn, has surpassed revenue records to become the highest grossing theatrical production since the historic theatre reopened as a working playhouse in 1968. Due to previous commitments by the actors and Ford’s Theatre, “1776” must close Saturday, May 19, 2012. (more...)
