Eighty-One Year Old Publishes HERO'S WELCOME

Corporal Jacques Viator, wounded shortly after D-Day, returns to his Louisiana rice farm thinking the war for him is over. His Hero's Welcome quickly turns from jubilation to horror as he awakens on the first morning to the sound of German men's voices and believes himself to be shell shocked. His wife Adele and his Cajun Papa have waited too late to tell their beloved soldier that the shortage of farm workers has forced them to use German POWs. What happens next sets Jacques and his family on a tumultuous journey to forgiveness and peace. (more...)

Each month, the festival hosts free local concerts at varying Downtown Las Vegas venues with the intent of showcasing and selecting a few homegrown acts to play at the highly-anticipated festival this fall. Ruhl's version of Three Sisters was commissioned by, and premiered in 2009 at, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Orlando was commissioned by, and premiered in 1998 at, the Piven Theatre Workshop, before receiving its NYC premiere in 2010 at Classic Stage Company. BWW Reviews: Theatre Under the Stars' Rollicking SPAMALOT is Hilarious and a Ton of Fun

Having grown up on Monty Python reruns and films, it doesn't take a lot to get me excited about seeing a production of Monty Python's SPAMALOT. The hilarious hit musical is making a gloriously triumphant return to Houston in its first locally produced performance at Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS). The First National Tour enjoyed a four week run in the summer of 2007 that was co-produced by Broadway Across America - Houston and TUTS, and because of popular demand TUTS decided to produce the show again.
