Garry Hynes and Martha Clarke Take Home SDC's Joe A. Callaway Awards

Directors Garry Hynes and Martha Clarke were the 2009 recipients of the Joe A. Callaway Award, honoring excellence in direction and choreography in non-Broadway productions in New York. Hynes won for his production of THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN and Clarke for choreography of GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS. The honors were bestowed earlier this month. (more...)

Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series, a forum for public discussion between Lincoln Center Theater artists and interested theatergoers, continues its sixth season with pre-performance talks tomorrow (Wed., Nov. 17) with Martha Clarke and Charles L. Martha Clarke Receives 2010 Scripps/ADF Award

Modern dance choreographer Martha Clarke has won the prestigious $50,000 Scripps/ADF award, The New York Times reports. The award, established in 1981, is presented by the American Dance Festival. This year's Festival will present the premiere of Clarke's ANGEL REAPERS, dealing with the life of Shaker founder Ann Lee, on July 5. (more...)

GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS Extends Until 5/31

Rhoda Herrick has just announced that Garden of Earthly Delights will be extending its run for the second consecutive time, continuing through Sunday, May 31 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane). The show, which opened to rave reviews on November 19, began previews on November 8 and was originally slated to run through January 18.
