The Public Welcomes Mandy Patinkin In Concert Series 12/8

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) welcomes Tony Award-winning actor and singer Mandy Patinkin back to The Public for a two-week concert series in the Anspacher Theater in honor of the 20th Anniversary of his first concert at The Public. For the first time, Patinkin will present three of his most popular concerts, Mamaloshen, Celebrating Sondheim, and Dress Casual, in repertory with Paul Ford on piano, December 8 through December 21. All profits from Patinkin's concerts go to The Public Theater just as they did 20 years ago when he first performed here. AWA Partners to Expand to Create Broadway Booking Agency

AWA Partners has just announced that they are joining forces with OBB/Off Broadway Booking to expand operations as a full-service agency. The new company will operate under the banner of AWA Partners and provide tour direction and booking for attractions spanning from multi-week national tours to single night performances, domestically and internationally, and in venues ranging from performing arts centers of all sizes to arenas and clubs. Partners in the newly expanded company will be L. Glenn Poppleton, Alison Spiriti and Orin Wolf. L. Glenn Poppleton will serve as president of the agency. Alan Wasser and Allan Williams will continue as founding partners in the company. (more...)

It's Official: Patinkin & Danes in Showtime's 'Homeland' Series

Deadline.com reports today that Mandy Patinkin will team up with Claire Danes for a new Showtime drama series, Homeland. According to the report: 'Homeland centers on American POW Scott Brody, who returns home 10 years after going missing in Iraq, and Carrie Anderson (Danes), a driven CIA officer who suspects he might be plotting an attack on America. Patinkin will play the smart and politically savvy CIA Division Chief emeritus Saul Berenson who is Carrie's main champion in the intelligence upper echelon and her sounding board.' (more...)
