Visit Santa Rosa Announces Debut of Athleta Iron Girl Half Marathon, 11/10

Sonoma County is well established as a highly desired sports destination with the likes of the Amgen Tour and other respected events. Now Visit Santa Rosa is honored to welcome the latest: the Iron Girl Athleta marathon. Visit Santa Rosa and the City of Santa Rosa are local supporters of the Iron Girl through the Santa Rosa Tourism Business Improvement Area event sponsorship. The women-only event will now include a half marathon in Santa Rosa, Calif. It will be the first and only Northern California race in the nationwide 19-event series. The debut of the 13.1-mile run will take place in historic downtown Santa Rosa 55 miles north of San Francisco. Athleta Iron Girl empowers women to discover their personal best, embrace strength and celebrate accomplishment in a supportive community of women that will cheer them on. Sherman Chamber Ensemble Offers Youth Summer Camps, 6/24

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is pleased to announce its 2013 summer songwriting and musical theater camps. Taking place June 24th through June 28th at the Pawling Middle School and July 8th through 12th under the auspices of the New Fairfield Parks and Recreation Summer Camp, these hands-on creative workshops are open to students ages 10 through 15. All levels of musical ability are welcome, and students do not need to play an instrument in order to participate in this program. Registration is open to young people from Pawling, New Fairfield, Sherman and any other town, including summer visitors to the region. (more...)
