And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. The dynamic, Texas-based River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) announced today that American-Taiwanese conductor Mei-Ann Chen has been appointed the organization's first ever Artistic Partner beginning in 2019-2020, the orchestra's 15th season. REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite.

3-D Theatricals (3DT) rings in its 2017-1018 season at both the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center (RBPAC) and the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) with Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, a musical comedy from the Broadway creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash hit The Producers. The production, with music and lyrics by Brooks and a book by Thomas Meehan, is a hilariously tuneful show based on the 1974 smash hit film Young Frankenstein which was a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. David Lamoureux directs with Corey Hirsch serving as Musical Director and Daniel Smith as Choreographer. Producer Rick Murray will present two-time Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell in his Provincetown debut, Sunday August 6 for two performances only, 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. in the Paramount Theatre at The Crown & Anchor.
