Cynthia Nixon Narrates Pit Stop Players' THE RITE STUFF Tonight

The Pit Stop Players, a thirteen-member instrumental ensemble composed of veteran Broadway pit musicians, will conclude their fourth season with special guest Cynthia Nixon narrating a new work, plus a newly commissioned chamber arrangement of Igor Stravinsky's towering masterpiece, 'The Rite of Spring.' Christy and features Russ Widdall of HBO's 'The Wire.' This award-winning play is the third professional production of New City Stage's 7th season, entitled 'The New American Dysfunctional Family'. This is the first time the show is receiving a professional production in the greater Philadelphia area. Performances begin tonight, February 28, and run throught through March 24, 2013 at the Adrienne Theater Main Stage at 2030 Sansom Street in downtown Philadelphia. (more...)

Ayub Khan Din Leads The New Group's BUNTY BERMAN PRESENTS…, Opening 5/9

The New Group announced today that Ayub Khan Din has stepped into the title role in the new musical Bunty Berman Presents..., replacing actor Erick Avari who withdrew from the production last week on doctor's orders following an injury. The world premiere of this musical comedy, with book & lyrics by Ayub Khan Din and music by Ayub Khan Din and Paul Bogaev, is directed by Scott Elliott. Previews began April 12. Performances resume Wednesday, April 24 in advance of Official Opening Night on Thursday, May 9 at 7:00pm. The jury will be divided among the seven competitive Festival categories.
