Critically acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Kahane, currently in his 16th season as Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), showcases his impressive versatility in an all-Bach solo piano recital as part of LACO's five-concert "Baroque Conversations" series highlighting the breadth of Baroque music on Thursday, March 21, 2013, 7 pm, at Zipper Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Kahane - heralded for playing "with expressive warmth and fleet-fingered High Spirits" (Los Angeles Times) and praised for his "deep musical understanding and a razor-sharp sense of drama" (Denver Post) - performs wide ranging selections from The Well Tempered Clavier, one of the most influential works in the history of Western classical music and the first book of preludes and fugues written in all 24 major and minor keys. He also plays two of the final keyboard suites composed by Bach: the Partita No. 4 in D major, BWV 828, which Kahane recorded on vinyl for Nonesuch in 1986, and the French Suite No. 5 in G major, BWV 816.
