Sam McMurray, Anatol Yusef, and More Set for BUZZ Reading at Atlantic Theater Tonight, 9/23

Tonight, September 23rd, there will be an invitation only industry reading of Susan Ferrara's new play BUZZ at The Atlantic Theater Stage 2. Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs to Present THE WINTER'S TALE, Beginning 10/19

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs will present one of Shakespeare's most intriguing plays, The Winter's Tale, directed by Taibi Magar (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '14). With a story that is both epic and intimate, The Winter's Tale is a roller coaster ride from tragedy to romance to redemption, boasting some of Shakespeare's most beautiful poetry. Performances are Friday October 19 at 7:30PM, Saturday October 20 at 2:00pm and 7:30PM, as well as Sunday October 21 at 2:00PM in the Citizens Bank Theater, Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence. Playwrights Horizons 2012 Gala to Honor James Lapine, Stephen Sondheim, and More!

Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons will hold its annual Spring Gala on Monday evening, June 11th at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled "The Highest Standard", the evening will celebrate its five Pulitzer Prize-winning productions and honor the creators of these memorable works for the theater. The honorees are James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George), Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park), Stephen Sondheim (Sunday in the Park with George), Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy), Wendy Wasserstein (The Heidi Chronicles) and Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife). Stephen Bogardus, Jeffry Denman, and More Join Classic Stage Company's PASSION- Full Cast Announced!

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, today announced complete casting for the company's upcoming new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical PASSION, to be directed by John Doyle (director of the acclaimed Broadway revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company). Joining previously announced Melissa Errico (Clara), Judy Kuhn (Fosca) and Ryan Silverman (Giorgio) in the production are Stephen Bogardus (Colonel Ricci), Jeffry Denman (Lieutenant Barri), Jason Michael Evans (Private Augenti), Amy Justman (understudy), Ken Krugman (Lieutenant Torasso), Orville Mendoza (Sergeant Lombardi), Tom Nelis (Doctor Tambourri) and Will Reynolds (Major Rizzoli/Ludovic). PASSION is slated to begin performances on February 8, 2013 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), with an official press opening scheduled for Thursday, February 28, playing a limited engagement through Sunday, April 7. Judy Kuhn and Melissa Errico Set to Lead PASSION at Classic Stage Company in 2013

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner announced today that acclaimed/awarding winning actresses Judy Kuhn and Melissa Errico will star as Fosca and Clara in the company's new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical PASSION, to be directed by John Doyle (the Tony Award-winning revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company). PASSION is slated to begin performances in February, 2013. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks and months, as well as full creative team. PASSION opened on Broadway in May of 1994 and received the Tony Award that year for Best Musical. (more...)
