Hwang's 'Yellow Face' with Jue, Debuts at The Public Nov.19

The Public Theater will conclude its fall season with the world premiere of David Henry Hwang's new play Yellow Face, directed by Leigh Silverman. A co-production with the Center Theatre Group, this backstage comedy begins previews on Monday, November 19 and will run through Sunday, December 23 with an official press opening on Monday, December 10 at 7 PM. Ms. Davis who was recently seen on Broadway in last season's award-winning musical Passing Strange will portray herself and Linda Powell, last seen on Broadway in the Tony-nominated revival On Golden Pond, will portray her aunt, professor and activist Angela Davis. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ousted 'Real Housewives of New York's' star Jill Zarin is currently in talks with the Fox network to star in a new reality show tentatively titled, 'The Beverly Jillbillies'. The series would follow Zarin as she leaves the comforts of Manhattan and moves to LA where she struggles to be a fish out of water. (more...)
