Cellist Maya Beiser will see the New York premiere of her new production, ELSEWHERE, a "CelloOpera," in four performances from October 17 through 20 at 7:30pm, during the 2012 BAM Next Wave Festival in the inaugural season of the Fishman Space, part of BAM's new Richard B. Daryl Roth Receives Hostetter-Habib Family Award Tonight, 5/8

Theater producer Daryl Roth, who produced last season's Tony Award-winning revival of The Normal Heart and has presented an unprecedented seven Pulitzer Prize-winning plays on the stage, is set to receive two prestigious honors next month. The Family Equality Council will present Roth with the Hostetter-Habib Family Award for her continued support of the LGBT community. The presentation will take place at the organizations Night at the Pier event tonight, May 8. (more...)

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater produces the 2011 Tony Award-winning production of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart, directed by George C. Wolfe. Wolfe, who directed the show's sold-out Broadway engagement last season, mounts the professional D.C.-area premiere of this production, which features returning Broadway cast members Patrick Breen and Luke MacFarlane, among others. Daryl Roth Receives Harold Clurman Spirit Award Today, 5/20

Theater producer Daryl Roth, who produced last season's Tony Award-winning revival of The Normal Heart and has presented an unprecedented seven Pulitzer Prize-winning plays on the stage, will receive her second award of the month today. At its Stella by Starlight Gala tonight, May 20, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting will present Roth with The Harold Clurman Spirit Award "for courageous contribution to the culture of the city of New York and beyond." Her fellow honorees at the Stella by Starlight Gala include Harry Belafonte, James Earl Jones, Ed Schultz, and Masa Tanaka. (more...)

The Flea Theater Presents UNEXPLORED INTERIOR, 4/8

AiRealistic Presents BREAKING SURFACE, 3/19-23

'Breaking Surface' is an acrobatic aerial dance theater work staged in and over a thirty-by-twenty five foot shallow pool of water. It will be presented March 19 to 23 at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue (at E. 10th Street) by AiRealistic, an aerial theater company that was 'born out of a love of physical expression and an incessant urge to take wing.' The Center Players of Bayonne have assembled Tribe members that are gearing up and preparing a theatrical presentation of HAIR: The Rock Musical at the JCC of Bayonne. FUERZA BRUTA Adds Late Friday Shows With Star-Studded After-Parties 4/13

FUERZA BRUTA, the wildly successful Off-Broadway show in New York City is plunging into spring and summer by adding additional performances at 10:30 p.m. every Friday night beginning April 13th. Following the show, fans are invited to stay and party the night away with New York City's premier DJs behind the turn tables.
