George Hearn & Elena Shaddow to Star in FANNY at Encores! Cast Announced...

Fred Applegate, George Hearn, David Patrick Kelly, Michael McCormick, Rondi Reed, Elena Shaddow, James Snyder and Ted Sutherland have been cast in Fanny, the 50th Encores! musical produced by New York City Center since 1994 and the second Encores! production of the season. Fanny, running February 4 - 7, has music and lyrics by Harold Rome and book by S.N. Behrman and Joshua Logan, and is based on Marcel Pagnol's trilogy Marius, Fanny and Cesar. Fanny will be directed by Mark Bruni and choreographed by Lorin Latarro with music direction by Rob Berman.

BILLY ELLIOT Announces New 'Billy' and 'Michael'; Alvarez Departs Jan. 3

Broadway favorite Christopher Sieber (Shrek, Spamalot) spent Saturday, December 12 mentoring the young talent of Broadway's future as they led the morning portion of a Shrek master class with Broadway Artists Alliance. Sieber (Lord Farquaad) answered questions and candidly spoke about his experiences with Shrek as well as other stage and screen credits to a group of eager and talented young performers ages 10 to 21. The group's morning Q & A was followed with a Song Interpretation class led by Sieber. The master class concluded with a Musical Theatre Audition Technique session by a representative from Tara Rubin casting. (more...)

The 21st Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION announced an all time record total of $4,630,695 had been raised by the 60 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and National Tour companies to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's total breaks the previous record when $3,927,000 was raised for the 2007 GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION.

GYPSY OF THE YEAR 2009 Sets Records! Winners and Totals Are...

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS presented the 21st Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION over a two day event yesterday, December 7 and today, December 8 at the Palace Theatre on Broadway. The proceeds from the event benefit BC/EFA. This year's event raised more than $4,639,000 dollars. And the winners are in!

Feinstein and Edna's ALL ABOUT ME is on the Move: Now to Play at Henry Miller's Theatre

It is with great reluctance but enormous panache, given the expanding parameters of the production, that All About Me announces a new first - it moving theatres even before opening. The production will now begin performances at Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd St.) moving two blocks from one of the New York's prime theatres - and the originally announced - The John Golden Theatre. Michael Feinstein and Dame Edna's newly joint venture All About Me will begin previews Friday, February 19, 2010 and opening on Thursday, March 18, 2010. (more...)
