Last night, in front of a packed house, Artistic Director Louise Fischer announced New Theatre's 2019 Season.

Los Angeles Performance Practice presents its annual LAX Festival, which serves as a highly visible platform that supports hundreds of local artists each year, and reaches thousands of audience members in the greater Los Angeles area. The Los Angeles Exchange [LAX] Festival, 6th Ed. will run for ten days from Thursday, October 11 through Sunday, October 21, 2018 at participating venues around town. With performances and events that are geographically focused in and around Downtown L.A., the festival program hosts an eclectic array of contemporary performances by Los Angeles-based artists, presented in dialogue with works by guest artists from outside the city's limits. The 2018 LAX Festival is built on an exchange with artists, curators, and organizations in Philadelphia. Festival passes are $125, individual tickets for performances and events are $20. A prolific dramatist, Tennessee Williams proved most succinct in declaring an ironic dictum: A play does not exist until it's on the stage.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces five NNPN Rolling World Premieres (RWP): Ready Steady Yeti Go by David Jacobi, Ripe Frenzy by Jennifer Barclay, Apples in Winter by Jennifer Fawcett, The Mermaid Hour by David Valdes Greenwood, and Heartland by Gabriel Jason Dean. The five plays will receive a total of 17 NNPN RWP productions, with each play seeing at least three distinct productions in a 12-month period.

Anyone familiar with the career of three-time Tony-nominee Marc Kudisch knows two things about him; 1) he is one of the most talented stage actors of his generation, and 2) he is as passionate as he is talented. The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is delighted to announce its spring schedule of major events. The largest single source of performing arts events in the state of Ohio, CCM presents nearly 150 major public performances from Jan. 12 through May 18, ranging from faculty and guest artist concerts to fully supported opera, musical theatre, drama and dance productions.

America's premier show choir, the Indiana University Singing Hoosiers, will perform its 59th annual spring concert, 'A Celebration of American Popular Music,' at IU Auditorium April 4 at 8 p.m. The vocal ensemble performs American popular music, jazz and Broadway favorites with dazzling choreography, energy and style.

Oscar-winning actor and comedian Red Buttons, who appeared on Broadway in numerous shows in the '40s, has passed away at the age of 87
