Ohio's Rock on the Range 2013 Sells Out

In just seven years, ROCK ON THE RANGE--America's premier destination rock festival--has grown to a sold-out, three night music celebration with more than 50 bands performing this past weekend (Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Ohio. Ticket buyers travelled from 49 states (and three countries) for this year's ROTR, which generated an economic impact of $17 million to the Columbus metro area. (more...)

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that Mary Birdsong, Aisha de Haas, Kate Flannery, Ashley Austin Morris, andJoyce Van Patten will appear in the Philadelphia cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore on June 25-July 7 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. This intimate collection of stories by sisters Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron and directed by Karen Carpenter is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman. Like the popular book, the show uses clothing, accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories to which all women can relate. This production is presented by special arrangement with producer Daryl Roth. (more...)

CA Chief Justice Gives Address on Current State of Judiciary, 6/4

The Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA), in association with the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation and the Law Guild of Beverly Hills, hosts the 59th Annual Supreme Court Luncheon honoring the California Supreme Court on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, 11:30 a.m., at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye is attending and is providing remarks on the current state of the Judiciary. This is her third appearance at the BHBA's perennial luncheon since becoming Chief Justice in 2011. Unlike previous years, the Supreme Court Associate Justices will not be in attendance. Due to fiscal constraints caused by the state's budget cuts, this year the Court is not holding its usual June oral argument session in Los Angeles, around which the BHBA Supreme Court Luncheon has always been slated, but, instead, will remain in San Francisco, where the court normally convenes. Chicago-Area Museum Participates in Blue Star Museums

Today the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center announced its participation in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,800 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2013. The all-star, 13-song program of Blues-based guitar rock nuggets, featuring contributions from guests Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Chrissie Hynde, Joe Walsh, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Ivan Neville, and others will be available everywhere August 6, 2013 through Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.Proceeds from sales of the album will go to fund educational programs at the charitable organization EMP Museum.
