Celebration Theatre has announced an added show to its Celebratory 30th Anniversary Season, the Los Angeles Premiere of a new play, AT THE FLASH, written by Sean Chandler and David Leeper, performed by David Leeper and directed by David Zak. Running almost every Wednesday through Sunday between now and April 21, 2013, is a world premiere musical that is certainly worth seeing. It's "Under A Rainbow Flag," with book, music and lyrics by Chicagoan Leo Schwartz, and based on the recollections of the now 91-year-old Jon Phillips, living in retirement in Evanston and present on opening night. The show is running in the Profiles Theatre Main Stage space at 4139 N. Broadway, in Chicago's Buena Park neighborhood, in the Uptown community area. (more...)

Heather Bankrupt Exposes the Truth about Immigration in New Book

Common to African, American Indian and native folklores, The House of Bug Representatives and Bug Immigration Reform by author Heather Bankrupt unveils characters and plot that came from the desire to use animals to entertain and teach life lessons. “Animal Farm” by George Orwell inspired the overlay of immigration (a current political issue) on the story. The other narrative objectives of this book are to highlight general education sciences: biological, environmental, and behavioral (especially political science and economics), and to provide a “safe” anecdote that will inspire engaging and inclusive dialogue on immigration reform.
