Passajj Productions will present A Musical: Madame Bovary, based on the novel by Gustave Flaubert, at Roy Arias Stage IV, beginning May 17, 2013. Marlene Thorn Taber will direct this musical adaptation by renowned composer and lyricist Paul Dick. Hayley Hoffmeister will portray Emma Bovary and Roger Rathburn (No, No, Nanette) is cast in the role of Charles Bovary. A Musical: Madame Bovary brings to life Flaubert's characters as they transition from youthful romanticism to mature reality except for Emma Bovary. This is the story of her passion. (more...)

Celebrating its 10th anniversary season, this May at the Hudson Guild Theatre (441 West 26th Street), the White Horse Theater Company is presenting an exciting new production of Marsha Norman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play 'night, Mother starring Broadway veteran Joy Franz as Thelma, with Laura Siner playing daughter Jessie (who previously starred in White Horse's acclaimed In The Bar of a Tokyo Hotel). The production will run through May 19 and features direction from White Horse's Producing Artistic Director Cyndy A. Marion, who has staged a bold, visually alluring version of the dramatic work, heightening the theatricality and sharpening the focus on Jessie's looming bedroom door. (more...)

Third year at Juilliard marked the beginning of my "Morning Pages". My close friends and family know that I've spent almost every morning for the past two years with my green smoothie, tea and journal. Julia Cameron's book, "The Artist's Way", taught me morning pages, which are three pages stream of thought to begin the day. This has been my tool for creativity, my weapon against my ego and my mirror reflecting my soul. I came back from summer holidays feeling good, and I wanted to protect the confidence I had gained, not letting the pressures of school take over again. I was much more in touch with my heart and I wanted to continue hearing myself clearly. (more...)

The Children's Acting Company of New York will present its production of 'Bye Bye Birdie,' the Broadway musical hit with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by lee Adams and book by Michael Stewart, for four performances at the leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space, ss' Street and Broadway in Manhattan, from May 17 -19,2013. There will be performances on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 PM, Saturday, May 18, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday, May 19, at 12 Noon.
