Nora is the perfect wife and mother. She is dutiful, beautiful and everything is always in its right place. But when a secret from her past comes back to haunt her, her life rapidly unravels. Over the course of three days, Nora must fight to protect herself and her family or risk losing everything. Nora: A Doll's House is now playing at the Young Vic (66 The Cut).

Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history. Bergman, born July 14, 1918, is globally known for his work in the film industry directing, writing, and producing over sixty films over the course of forty years including The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, and Fanny and Alexander. In addition to his career in film, Bergman also worked in theatre directing 170 plays and writing and adapting plays for the stage like Nora.

PDFUHM's Department of Theatre and Dance presents legendary filmmaker and director Ingmar Bergman's Nora during the centennial year of his birth.  Bergman, born July 14, 1918, is globally known for his work in the film industry directing, writing, and producing over sixty films over the course of forty years including The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, and Fanny and Alexander.  In addition to his career in film, Bergman also worked in theatre directing 170 plays and writing and adapting plays for the stage like Nora.  To celebrate the centennial of his birth, film institutes around the world like Cinemateket, the Norwegian Film Institute in Oslo; the Detroit Film Theater; and the Flimhuset in Stockholm, Sweden are hosting retrospectives screening Bergman's works.  Here in Honolulu, audiences can celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth by attending Kennedy Theatre's production of Nora, a stage version of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll House by Ingmar Bergman adapted and translated by Frederick J. Marker and Lise-Lone Marker.  Nora runs April 13-22 with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22.

The Coachella Valley's premiere theatrical venue, The McCallum Theatre, has added an exciting new array of offerings to its' already jam-packed upcoming seaon. In 'The Past Is Still Ahead' by Sophia Romma, one of Russia's most ill-fated and controversial cult poets of the twentieth century, Marina Tsvetaeva, revisits the tumultuously tragic and sexy events of her life--just before she succumbs to 'suicide' at the hands of the Soviet Secret Police in 1941 while exiled in Siberia. The play will be presented by Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival tonight, July 23, 27 and 28 at The Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor, NYC, directed by Francois Rochaix.
