Following a sold-out engagement of Camelot in concert this past January, Palm Beach Dramaworks is proud to announce the next two musicals in their new Musical Theatre Masters program. Man of La Mancha will kick off the summer series on Wednesday, July 10 and run through July 21, with Carousel up next from Wednesday, August 7 through August 18 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach Gardens Donates $10K to Maltz Jupiter Theatre

Customers at Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach Gardens raised $10,000 for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre simply by shopping during the 2013 Saks Loves A Cause charity month program. The program donates 5% of purchases to one of three local charities. The donation comes as the theatre celebrates its 10th anniversary season. Customers are encouraged to select the charity of their choice at the time of purchase. The 2013 Saks Palm Beach Gardens charity program also raised $10,000 for the Loggerhead Marinelife Center and more than $5,000 for the American Red Cross of the Palm Beaches. (more...)

Michael Rackley Releases WE WILL NOT BOW

Dr. Michael Rackley, 2008 Cheyney University Football Hall of Fame inductee and 1988 free agent draft pick for the New Orleans Saints, has just released a new book with Liberty University Press. “We Will Not Bow to Babylon's Table” addresses the hard-hitting issues facing young people today, including premarital sex, homosexuality, eating disorders, bullying, and more. The book encourages teens to grow deeper in their faith by becoming more like Jesus Christ so they may combat the temptations they face every day. Michael Feinstein's Great American Songbook Vocal Competition Set for 6/1 in Chicago

High school vocalists from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri will compete on Saturday, June 1 at a regional for the Great American Songbook Vocal Academy & Competition. Sponsored by the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Initiative, the annual endeavor is the only U.S. competition dedicated solely to the music from Broadway, Hollywood musicals and the Tin Pan Alley era of the early to mid-twentieth century. Company, the Tony Award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth, will replace the previously announced concert presentation of Carousel in the highly anticipated Palm Beach Dramaworks' Musical Theatre Master Series. Company runs from August 7-18 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). First up is Man of La Mancha, which will play its originally announced dates of July 10-21. Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch to Return to Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel, 6/9

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel with their evening of swinging standards on Sunday, June 9, then running every Sunday in June, from 9pm - 12 midnight. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. During their November run at Bemelmans, the duo received critical acclaim, and made news when rock legend Bono joined them in an impromptu performance.
