West Virginia Public Theatre continues its 25th Anniversary Summer Season by bringing back a cult-classic musical comedy thriller after fourteen years absence from the WVPT stage. Little Shop of Horrors runs from June 30th through July 5th in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of the WVU Creative Arts Center. First appearing at WVPT in 1995, this audience favorite was written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken?the team behind such Disney favorites as Aladdin and The Little Mermaid?and tells the story of a nerdy florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. The musical was based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. (more...)

The 2008?09 New York Philharmonic Very Young People?s Concerts, geared to children ages three to five, will begin on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m., and Monday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m., at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street. This first program of the season, entitled ?Allegro and Adagio,? will explore how tempo makes music fun, and will feature works by Dvoř?k, Brahms, and Smetana, along with hands-on music-making with musicians from the Orchestra. Zombie is directed by Thomas Caruso and performed by Bill Connington. Zombie began performances on February 18 and continues through March 29, 2009 in a limited 6-week engagement at the Theatre Row Complex (Studio Theatre), located at 410 West 42 Street between 9 & 10 Avenues in NYC. Bette Bourne Returns to the London Stage in Fountain's RESIDENT ALIENT
