BREAKING: Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik Set to Lead FLASHDANCE Tour!

Broadway stars Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik will star as "Alex" and "Nick" in the world premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. Padgett and Hydzik will be joined on stage by the legendary Rachelle Rak in the role of "Tess." Sergio Trujillo, director and choreographer for the production returned to the home of FLASHDANCE and launch of the world premiere, Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall, to announce the lead casting from a press conference. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Kevin McMahon, CEO of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, were also on hand to welcome the cast and creative team to Pittsburgh and to make a proclamation, naming January 1, 2013 as FLASHDANCE DAY. Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, makes a splash with the effervescent musical comedy SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, opening November 30 and running through January 13, 2013. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN features one of the largest all-star casts ever assembled on the Drury Lane stage, led by Tony Yazbeck. Fulton Theatre Begins SINGIN' IN THE RAIN Tonight

For the first time in its history the Fulton Theatre will make it rain on stage, in a dazzling stage effect that will bring the beloved MGM film Singin' in the Rain to life in downtown Lancaster. The Fulton's artistic director Marc Robin directs and choreographs. 'I have directed this show six times before but I have never had the opportunity to produce it exactly as I wanted, for various reasons. I am so excited because for the first time I have the ability to spread the rain effect over the entire stage, not to mention having the absolute best cast a director could ask for.' (more...)

Emily Skinner to Replace Euan Morton in Cabaret Performances at Signature Theatre, Jan 9-12

Euan Morton, who was originally scheduled to bring his solo cabaret act to Signature Theatre in Arlington, has cancelled his appearance due to another commitment at Yale Repertory Theatre. The January 9-12, 2013 slot will now be filled by Emily Skinner. (more...)

Tony Yazbeck Replaces Sean Palmer in Drury Lane Theatre's SINGIN' IN THE RAIN

Kyle DeSantis, Executive Producer of Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, announced today that Broadway actor Tony Yazbeck will take over the role of "Don Lockwood" in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, replacing Sean Palmer who suffered an injury. The production, which is currently in previews, will now have its press opening on Friday, Nov. 30 at 8:30pm. Yazbeck will go into the production on Wednesday, November 21. (more...)
