On Wednesday, June 27th from 3:45-5:15 pm, the Aspen Ideas Festival and Theatre Aspen will collaborate for the first time ever on a combination live performance and panel discussion event at the Aspen Music Festival's Benedict Music Tent. The session will examine the historical and social impact that iconic theatre pieces have had in highlighting important social issues such as race, gender and social justice. The panel discussions will be moderated by the renown theatre critic of the Washington Post, Peter Marks, and will feature such participants as David Brooks and Katie Couric.

Life on a Palette, a new musical based on Norman Rockwell's covers for the Saturday Evening Post, will present excerpts at Knesset Israel in Pittsfield, MA on Monday, June 25 at its annual gala fundraiser. Rockwell features book and lyrics by Eleanor Albano and Anthony Barnao, and music by Ron Abel.

Additional casting has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie on Friday, July 27, at 8 PM, Saturday, July 28, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 29, at 7:30 PM. The new cast members are David Alan Grier as Daddy Warbucks and Steven Weber as Franklin Delano Roosevelt ('FDR'). Broadway Sacramento announced the 2018 - 19 Broadway On Tour season at the Community Center Theater, sponsored by Wells Fargo, featuring four shows not previously presented in the series and three that are favorites of Broadway Sacramento audiences. Andrew Lloyd Webber has today announced that the New London Theatre is to be renamed in honour of the trailblazing choreographer Dame Gillian Lynne. The theatre will be formally recognized as the Gillian Lynne Theatre later this year and will be the first West End theatre to be named after a woman.
