Lerner & Loewe 'Paint Your Wagon' Rolls onto Tour, Broadway?

The Lerner and Loewe 1951 hit Broadway musical, Paint Your Wagon, will be launched by co-producers Christopher Allen, D. Constantine Conte (48 Hours, Persido), and Larry Spellman (Say Goodnight Gracie), for a cross-country tour to open on Broadway followed by a London production starting with Utah's Pioneer Theatre Company September 28 thru October 13, 2007. Bryant Park Corporation announces the inaugural season of a series of early fall classical music concerts featuring musicians from the New York Philharmonic, New York City Opera, Orchestra of St. Luke's, the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, and The New York Pops. Entitled Bank of America presents New York Now in Bryant Park, the series runs for three weeks, from September 23 through October 8, kicking off with musicians from the New York Philharmonic, featuring Principal Clarinet Stanley Drucker. WHO'S LERNER & LOEWE Holds Performances 3/5-3/22

Of the few songwriting teams known as one word we have Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Kander & Ebb and...Lerner & Loewe. These two men created many of America's most well-known musical theater scores. They weren't nearly as prolific as those others mentioned, but in listing their works together, there's not one clinker among them. Their first hit was Brigadoon in 1947, then came Paint Your Wagon in 1951, My Fair Lady in 1956, the film Gigi for MGM in 1958 and finally Camelot in 1960. (more...)

Bway Bound Brigadoon Postponed Due to Lack of Broadway Theatre

The new production of Lerner and Loewe's BRIGADOON, directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford and scheduled to play in Boston this fall, prior to a Broadway opening, has been postponed. The delay is due to the lack of an appropriate Broadway theatre in Spring, 2009. (more...)

As the season of romance is upon us, Ray of Light Theatre continues its astronomical 2008/2009 season with I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. A laugh-inducing, award-winning musical comedy about love in the suburbs, this stage sensation has been described as 'Seinfeld set to music'. It's a hilarious look at love and relationships that is touching, insightful and humorous. With six actors playing over forty roles scaling the dizzying spectrum of male/female relationships, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change reveals the difficulties and joys of connecting with another person.
