DOG RUN REP presents WINTER THEATRE AT SOUTH STREET SEAPORT featuring Dog Run Rep, Abraxas Stage Company, Studio 42, and Unknown Productions. Celebrating its 3rd season, Dog Run Rep?s mission is to enhance cultural programming in Lower Manhattan. As part of its Seaport Semester program, General Growth Properties, the owners of the South Street Seaport, is teaming up with the collaboration by providing the @Seaport! venue at 210 Front Street for Winter Theatre at South Street Seaport. The line up includes: *DOG RUN REP presents Moliere?s Tartuffe, adapted and directed by Jeff Cohen. Tartuffe, set in 1930?s New York, begins performances on Friday, March 6th and runs through Sunday, March 29. *ABRAXAS STAGE COMPANY?s Crazy Head Space, a new musical, begins performances on Thursday March 12th and runs through Sunday April 5. *STUDIO 42?s New Play Reading Series will be presented on Monday evenings, February 16th through March 30th. *UNKNOWN PRODUCTION?s New Play Reading Series featuring work by Emily Conbere, Crystal Skillman, Maggie Smith, and Jeff Cohen will be presented on Sunday afternoons, March 15th through April 5th.

Hello from London, Cold and dark though it is - theatre here and especially musicals and serious drama are enjoying a surge of popularity. This has been put down to the sheer RANGE of shows on offer. Take where i am now at the Hampstead Theatre. Mike Leigh and David Hare are favourites here and tonights show is no exception at this cutting edge building and stage. Rehearsals on the eve of opening night are always a rush and a panic. But under cool headed Lucy Bailey the revival of Noel Coward's 'Private Lives' is proving to be a real hit with cast and critics alike. Broadway World caught up with her in a break from rehearsals after she'd sent via MMS, some photos of the actors going through their paces.

The play is based on legendary New York City mayor Fiorello La Guardia who, with passion and grit, changed the face of New York City. With the overwhelming audience response to the show, and in celebration of Fiorello La Guardia's birthday, December 11th, Lo Bianco will extend the hit show from December 4th through December 13th for the holiday season.

Since I live in New York City, I usually don't take a 'theater vacation'-you know, the eight-shows-a-week type of trip to New York or London. Even when I go to London, theater is just one of the activities on my itinerary. But the last three summers, I have found myself in a summer theater destination and have been appreciating more and more the joy of taking my No. 1 pastime on the road.
